Hilton Head Beach Wedding at Sonesta Resort|| Rebecca & Grant

Destination weddings don’t always have to be out of the country in super exotic locations, not that those are bad, but that isn’t everyone’s vibe. Hilton Head is a gorgeous option that still gives you the destination resort feel, without the need for a passport!

For Rebecca and Grant, this was exactly the case!! Coming in from Michigan, the Sonesta Resort was the perfect oasis to give them the tropical wedding of their dreams! The Sonesta Resort on Hilton is tucked away in the back of a gated community comprised of multiple hotels and condos and gives an air of security. The resort also has very expansive grounds that feature multiple different pools, lounging areas, different bars, and direct access to the beach.

The resort also had a private event space that allowed for Rebecca and Grant to have a private wedding without other hotel guests interfering.

A Seemless Wedding Day

It was quite a hot day in May, but luckily the Sonesta Resort had plenty of trees that offered shade, and lots of water features that cooled the area off! By the time the ceremony came around the breeze had picked up and was colling everything off. I was a little worried that the beach would be too hot during the ceremony, but with the ocean breeze, it was very pleasant.

The Absolute Sweetest Moment

Father/Daughter and Mother/Son dances are usually emotional moments for the day, and Rebecca and Grant’s day was no exception. The Father/ Daughter dance was sweet and elegant, but when Grant and his mother took the floor is when the tears started flowing. Grant and his mother danced for a small bit of their song, with Rebecca watching from the side, and then Grant’s mother turned to Rebecca and opened her arms. The simple act of Rebecca joining in on their dance, and just the sweet gesture altogether had most immediately wiping their eyes. It was honestly one of the sweetest moments I have witnessed at a wedding.
